As she walks down the stairs to the underground creative center known as LairinX Studios, Lakara Foster, spoken-word artist and author of the upcoming, Grown Woman Guide, prepares to treat the studio to a rare performance.

In part 1 of this episode, Lakara, full of grace and poise, settles in on our couch and drops knowledge and wisdom through the dramatic narration of her poem, "Embracing Insanity". nefTUNES joins along on the acoustic guitar, and the intense ambiance is captured on film.

Many people know Lakara as the host of the sweet creation of live music and poetry, held at Kat's Cafe, The Brown Sugar Vibe. They may also be pleased to find that, in addition to being an emcee, Lakara is an accomplished spoken word artist and writer.
